The D2P Rear Wheel Hub Dust Cap (TP374046) is a vital protective component designed for Citroen, Peugeot, Opel, and Vauxhall vehicle owners looking to maintain the integrity of their rear wheel bearing assemblies. This cap provides a reliable barrier against dust, road grime, and moisture, preventing premature bearing failure; however, users should verify their specific vehicle sub-model and production year compatibility before installation to ensure a precise, secure fit.

This product is typically sold as an individual unit. Please check your order quantity if you need to replace both rear caps.
Verify your vehicle's VIN or check your service manual to confirm if the original part corresponds to OEM part number 374046.
Usually, a flat-head screwdriver or a dedicated hub cap removal tool is sufficient to pry the old cap out.
It is generally recommended to replace them with new ones, as prying them off often deforms the metal or plastic, compromising the future seal.
Driving without a cap allows water and grit to enter the wheel bearing, which will lead to rapid wear, grinding noises, and eventual bearing failure.
Check the hub bore for deformities or excessive rust. If the bore is damaged, the cap may not grip correctly.
Ensure the cap is aligned perfectly straight. Use a rubber mallet to apply even pressure around the edges rather than the center.
To install the D2P dust cap, first ensure the wheel hub is clean and free of debris. Remove the old cap carefully using a flat-head screwdriver or a pry tool, ensuring you do not damage the hub flange. Align the new TP374046 cap squarely with the hub opening. Use a rubber mallet to gently tap the perimeter of the cap until it seats firmly and flush against the hub surface. Check compatibility against your vehicle's service manual or cross-reference the part number 374046 to confirm fitment for your specific Citroen, Peugeot, Opel, or Vauxhall model. No specialized lubrication is typically required, but ensure the area is dry before installation.
