The external part of the socket is rated IP44, meaning it is protected against splashing water and solid objects larger than 1mm. However, the rear connection area is rated IP30 and must be protected from water.
There is a release lever on the socket. Push this lever to unlock the power lead and then pull the lead out.
The mounting holes are 4mm, making them ideal for 4mm screws or cap head bolts. Ensure the screws are long enough to securely fasten the socket without damaging internal components.
The socket is 105mm wide and 111mm tall externally. When fitted, it protrudes only 20mm from the panel surface.
You will need approximately 80mm of depth behind the panel for the socket and its wiring connections.
While not a separate paper template, the included foam gasket can be used as a guide for marking the cut-out on the vehicle panel.
It uses screw terminal connections for secure wiring. The rear cover slides off to provide access for making these connections.
Ensure the lead is fully inserted and aligned correctly. Check for any obstructions within the socket or on the lead connector.
Verify that all four mounting screws are tightened securely. Ensure the foam gasket is properly seated.
Immediately disconnect power. Ensure the rear cover is properly sealed and that no external water source is directly exposing the IP30 rated rear. Re-seal if necessary. Consider additional protective measures for the rear if exposed.
Check the main power source and the vehicle's internal fuse or circuit breaker. Verify that the wiring connections are secure and correctly made at the screw terminals.
