Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation requires a standard cassette lockring tool and a chain whip. Ensure your freehub is Shimano/SRAM HG compatible.
- Remove the old cassette using the lockring tool and chain whip.
- Clean the freehub body thoroughly and apply a light layer of grease to the splines.
- Slide the RX1 cassette onto the freehub, ensuring the widest spline aligns correctly.
- Thread the alloy lockring by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten to the manufacturer's specified torque (usually 40Nm).
Regular maintenance involves cleaning the sprockets with a degreaser after muddy or wet rides to preserve the black finish and ensure the shifting pins remain free of debris. Always verify that your chain is not worn before installing a new cassette to prevent premature gear wear.
