Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Identify the damaged connector and determine the corresponding replacement in the kit.
- Carefully remove the old connector and any damaged wiring.
- Strip the ends of the vehicle's wiring harness.
- Crimp or solder the new connector terminals onto the vehicle's wires.
- Insert the wires into the new connector housing, ensuring proper pin alignment.
- If a repair harness is included, splice it into the existing wiring using appropriate connectors (e.g., butt connectors, heat shrink tubing) for a secure and insulated connection.
Compatibility:
This kit is designed to cover common connectors used by GM, Chrysler, and Ford vehicles. It is crucial to visually match the connector type in the kit to the one requiring replacement on the vehicle. While it covers many applications, not every single connector ever used by these manufacturers is included. Always verify fitment before use.
Care:
Store the kit in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to prevent material degradation. Keep the packaging intact to organize the different connector types.
