Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
This cold chisel requires a hammer for use. Select a hammer appropriate for the task and the chisel's size, typically a ball-peen or engineer's hammer. Ensure the striking end of the chisel is clean and free of debris before use.
Compatibility:
Compatible with standard hammers and suitable for use on concrete, stone, brick, and various metals. Always wear appropriate safety gear.
Care:
- Cleaning: After each use, clean the chisel blade and shaft with a wire brush to remove debris. Wipe dry to prevent rust.
- Storage: Store in a dry place, preferably in a tool roll or toolbox, to protect the cutting edge and prevent rust.
- Maintenance: Periodically inspect the chisel for any signs of damage, such as chipping or excessive wear on the cutting edge. Sharpen the edge if necessary using a grinding wheel or file suitable for hardened steel. Ensure the hand protector remains securely attached.
