Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Ensure the pyrometer is powered on by checking or inserting the required batteries (typically AA or similar, check device manual for specifics). Select the desired temperature units (°F or °C) and display increment (1° or 0.1°) using the device's buttons. Aim the probe at the surface to be measured, ensuring a clear line of sight without obstructions.
Compatibility: This pyrometer is designed to measure surface temperatures. Its primary application is with tyres in motorsport, but it can be used on other surfaces within its temperature range where accurate surface temperature is critical.
Care: After each use, allow the probe to cool down completely before storing. Clean the probe tip and the device body with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth, ensuring no moisture enters the device's electronics. Store the pyrometer in its protective case to prevent damage. Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or harsh chemicals.
