Leaf springs, an ancient suspension system, remain prevalent in light commercial and 4WD vehicles due to their load distribution capabilities. There are two primary types: multi-leaf springs with stacked, differently-sized leaves, and parabolic springs designed for low internal friction and minimum weight. Both types rely on the strength and safety of the eyes for attachment. The manufacturing process involves leaf preparation, bending, heat treatment, shot peening, assembly, presetting, and surface treatment to ensure strength and corrosion protection, complying with quality assurance and environmental standards. For safety and optimal handling, it's recommended to replace leaf springs in axle pairs. Always follow a recognized repair manual for replacement and ensure U-bolts are properly tightened to the correct torque. Any leaf spring breakage between U-bolts due to insufficient tightening is not covered by warranty.
