Product Information
Full details
The Terma MEG Element offers precise temperature control with 5 heat settings ranging from 30°C to 60°C, indicated by 5 LEDs. It does not feature an integrated timer or a 2-hour drying function, but it is compatible with external timers as it remembers its settings when powered off. The element measures 66mm in length from the thread downwards, with a 55mm diameter clock-shaped face and a 300mm internal probe length. Control is managed via three buttons: Power, Temp +/-, and includes frost and overheating protection. It comes with a straight cable and no plug, and is rated IPx4, making it safe for bathroom use, Class 1. For correct wattage selection for your towel rail or radiator, match the element's wattage to the radiator's central heating (hydronic) output in watts. If only BTUs are provided, use the conversion formula: BTUS / 3.41 = Watts. It is crucial to verify with the radiator manufacturer that the model is suitable for use with a heating element, as certain designs may not function correctly. When converting a towel rail for dual fuel use (electric in summer, central heating in winter), remember to regularly bleed the rail to prevent air build-up. Never operate a heating element in open air, as this can cause extreme surface temperatures and potential burns to towels.
