The Siren R4 is the new standard for accurate and responsive indication. It features Roller Wheel Sensing, factory set for standard line movement across the roller. While superseded by Speed Sensing, it has specific applications like winter zigging where slow line tightening is expected. Speed Sensing offers two levels that respond to line movement faster than 1 and 2 centimeters per second, eliminating false indications. Wave Sensing technology prevents false indications from repeated wave action or boat fishing. Alarm events register movement faster than 1cm or 2cm per second, and after 15 or 30 centimeters of line movement forwards or backwards over the roller. Drift Sensing Safeguard protects against line creep from a spool due to weed buildup, where pressure and movement aren't enough to trigger Speed Sensing. It includes a drop-back alert with a decreasing tone for audible differentiation of take types. Homecoming Mode, designed for boat anglers, provides a rear LED for navigation reference back to a swim at night. The Night Glo range of indicators connect directly to R4 alarm heads, creating a pulsing Night Glo Bobbin or Swing Arm head when the alarm LED lights up.
