To unlock, simply insert one of the provided keys into the lock cylinder and turn it. This will release the push-button mechanism, allowing you to lift the button and remove the lock.

This lock is primarily designed to deter casual access, animals, and opportunistic waste dumping. It is not a high-security lock against determined theft.

Ensure the L-shaped bar is correctly positioned and holding the lid down firmly. Check that the push button is fully depressed until it clicks. Verify the bin's lip is providing a secure anchor point for the bracket.

Ensure the push button is not fully engaged, or try wiggling the lid slightly while turning the key. Check for any debris obstructing the keyhole or mechanism.

Confirm you are using the lock on a standard wheelie bin. Some bin designs may have different lip profiles that could affect the fit. Ensure the bracket is positioned as far under the lip as possible.

Clean any dirt or grit from the push button and keyhole. A small amount of graphite lubricant can be applied if stiffness persists, but avoid oil-based lubricants which can attract dirt.
