Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Too Faced Born This Way Foundation is straightforward:
- Skin Preparation: Always begin with a freshly cleansed and moisturized face. This creates the best canvas for application.
- Primer Application: For optimal 24-hour wear and a smoother finish, apply a compatible face primer. Choose a primer based on your skin's needs (e.g., hydrating, blurring, mattifying).
- Shade Matching: If you're unsure of your shade, test a small amount on your jawline in natural light and allow it to dry slightly. The shade that disappears into your skin is your best match.
Compatibility
This foundation is designed to integrate seamlessly into most makeup routines:
- Primers: Works well with a variety of hydrating, smoothing, or mattifying primers. Too Faced offers its own range, but the foundation is generally compatible with other reputable brands.
- Concealers: Can be layered with liquid, cream, or stick concealers for targeted coverage without caking.
- Powders: Sets beautifully with loose or pressed setting powders, enhancing its longevity and oil control, particularly in T-zone areas.
- Other Products: Compatible with cream, liquid, and powder blushes, bronzers, and highlighters. Apply cream/liquid products before setting with powder.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care ensures the longevity and hygiene of your foundation:
- Storage: Store the bottle upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. Excessive heat can alter the product's consistency and effectiveness.
- Hygiene: Always apply foundation with clean tools (brushes, sponges) or freshly washed hands. This prevents the transfer of bacteria into the product and onto your skin, which can lead to breakouts or product degradation.
- Shelf Life: Most liquid foundations, including this one, have a Period After Opening (PAO) symbol on the packaging (often an open jar icon with '12M' or '24M'). Adhere to this guideline and discard the product after the recommended period, or sooner if you notice changes in scent, color, or texture.
- Avoid Contamination: Do not add water or any other liquids to the foundation, as this can introduce bacteria and compromise the formula's integrity.
