FAQs

What is the recommended age for this set?

The set is generally recommended for children aged 3 and up.

Are the materials safe for children?

Yes, the set uses wood from sustainable forests and is designed with child safety in mind, though adult supervision is recommended during the hammering phase.

Can I build my own creatures?

Absolutely. The modular nature of the blocks and pins encourages open-ended building and creative design beyond the three provided examples.

What comes in the box?

The kit includes 105 wooden components (blocks, beams, and pins), a wooden hammer, and illustrated dinosaur body panels.

How do I attach the body panels?

The body panels are designed to clip onto the finished wooden frames once the structure is assembled.

Troubleshooting

Pin is difficult to insert into the hole.

Ensure the pin is aligned straight with the hole before tapping. If it remains tight, check for wood splinters or debris inside the hole and clear it out.

The dinosaur structure feels wobbly.

Check that all connecting pins are pushed in completely. Ensure that the load-bearing beams are aligned correctly according to the manual.

Pros and Cons

Cons

Requires adult supervision for hammering tasks
Smaller pins may be easily misplaced if not stored properly
Requires patience to assemble the structural frames

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To begin building, ensure you have a clean, flat workspace. Start by sorting the blocks and pins to identify the specific parts required for the dinosaur you wish to build. When using the hammer, tap the connecting pins gently until they are flush with the wooden block. To care for the wooden pieces, keep them away from moisture to prevent warping. If the pieces become dusty, a quick wipe with a dry cloth is sufficient; avoid submerging wooden parts in water. The kit is compatible with other SES Creative wooden sets, allowing for expanded building possibilities as a child's collection grows.
