Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Preparation: Gather necessary tools including a wrench, oil drain pan, and the new MANN-FILTER W712/95 oil filter. Consider using a special tool (LS 7) for removing the old filter.
- Removal: Warm up the engine, then turn it off and allow it to cool slightly. Locate the oil filter and drain plug. Place the drain pan under the drain plug and remove it to drain the old oil. Remove the old oil filter.
- Installation: Lubricate the gasket of the new W712/95 filter with fresh oil. Screw the new filter into place by hand until the gasket makes contact, then tighten it according to the filter's instructions (usually about 1/2 to 3/4 turn). Replace the drain plug.
- Filling & Checking: Refill the engine with the correct amount and type of oil specified in your vehicle's manual. Start the engine and check for leaks around the filter and drain plug. Check the oil level after a few minutes.
