Setup, Compatibility & Care
As natural gemstones, Peruvian Opal tumble stones require minimal setup but specific care. No installation or technical setup is needed. They are compatible with various crafting materials and display settings. To care for your opals:
- Avoid Drying: Do not leave opals in dry environments for extended periods, as their water content can decrease, leading to cracking.
- Gentle Cleaning: Clean stones with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, soaps, or abrasive cleaners.
- Handle with Care: Due to their relatively soft and brittle nature, avoid dropping them or subjecting them to impact.
- Storage: Store opals separately from harder gemstones to prevent scratches. A soft pouch or lined box is recommended.
- Avoid Extreme Conditions: Do not expose opals to sudden temperature changes or prolonged direct sunlight, which can affect their internal structure and appearance.
