This guide is for gardeners seeking reliable support for their herbaceous plants and shrubs. The Tom Chambers Medium Plant Support offers a strong, sturdy solution crafted from weatherproof metal, ensuring plants remain upright and healthy. A key caveat is that while designed for durability, excessive force during insertion could potentially damage delicate plant stems.

Ensure the support legs are pushed firmly and deeply into the soil. If the soil is very loose, consider adding a stake for extra stability or using the support with a smaller plant.
Water the area thoroughly before attempting insertion. If the ground remains too hard, consider using a trowel to create a pilot hole first or choosing a different, softer location.
The support is designed to be placed around the plant as it grows. If the plant has already significantly overgrown the initial placement area, you may need to gently reposition it or consider a larger support.
Setup: To set up your Tom Chambers Plant Support, gently push the legs of the support into the soil around the base of your plant. Aim to place it when the plant is still relatively small to avoid disturbing established roots. Ensure the support is pushed in deep enough to be stable.
Compatibility: These medium-sized supports are ideal for most herbaceous plants, perennials, and smaller shrubs that typically reach heights of up to 50cm. They are generally compatible with any soil type, provided it is firm enough to hold the support.
Care: The weatherproof coating means minimal care is required. Wipe down with a damp cloth if dirt or debris accumulates. They are designed to be left in place over winter, so no removal is necessary. Inspect annually for any signs of significant damage.
