Product Information

Full details

The B&Q Flannelette Fitted Sheet is designed for individuals seeking extra warmth and comfort during colder seasons without the heaviness of thicker blankets. Crafted from soft brushed flannelette, this sheet provides a luxurious, skin-gentle sleeping surface that retains heat effectively. While it offers excellent insulation for autumn and winter months, potential buyers should note that the brushed fabric may generate more static electricity than traditional cotton percale, and it requires careful temperature management during drying to maintain its soft texture.

FAQs

Is this sheet suitable for summer?

This sheet is designed for warmth and insulation, making it better suited for autumn and winter rather than hot summer months.

What is the size of this specific sheet?

This model is sized for a Small Double mattress.

Can I iron the flannelette sheet?

Yes, you can iron it on a low setting if necessary, though removing it from the dryer while slightly damp usually prevents the need for ironing.

Will the lilac color bleed in the wash?

The fabric is designed to be color-fast, but it is recommended to wash with similar colors for the first few cycles.

How deep is the skirt on this sheet?

The fitted sheet includes an elasticated 25cm skirt designed to fit standard mattress thicknesses.

Troubleshooting

Sheet keeps popping off the mattress corners

Ensure the mattress depth does not exceed the 25cm skirt capacity and verify that the elastic is tucked firmly under the corners.

Surface feels rough or pilled after washing

Avoid high-heat drying cycles and ensure you are using a fabric softener if the water in your area is particularly hard.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Provides immediate warmth and comfort for colder weather
  • Soft texture remains gentle on the skin
  • Durable fabric that resists fading over multiple washes
  • Elasticated skirt ensures a smooth, secure fit on the mattress

Cons

  • Material is optimized for cool weather and may be too warm for summer use
  • Brushed cotton may be prone to static build-up
  • Requires careful laundering to prevent pilling or shrinkage

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up your sheet, simply orient the elasticated corners to your mattress and pull the skirt taut under each side. Ensure the 25cm drop is pulled fully down for a secure fit.

Care Instructions:

  1. Machine wash on a gentle cycle using cool to lukewarm water to protect the brushed fibers.
  2. Use a mild detergent and avoid harsh bleaching agents.
  3. Tumble dry on a low heat setting; avoid high heat as it can lead to shrinkage and damage the brush-finish of the fabric.
  4. Remove promptly from the dryer to minimize wrinkling.
