A Thermostatic Radiator Valve (TRV) is a radiator control that allows you to set a desired temperature for individual rooms. It automatically adjusts the hot water flow into the radiator to maintain that temperature, preventing overheating and saving energy.

'DO' stands for Drain-Off. This feature allows you to isolate and drain water from a single radiator without needing to drain your entire central heating system, making maintenance tasks much easier.

The TRV head has numbered settings, typically from 1 to 5. These numbers correspond to approximate room temperatures. '1' is usually around 10-12°C (frost protection), and '5' is around 25-28°C. Higher numbers mean higher temperatures. You can experiment to find the setting that achieves your desired comfort level for each room.

Installation requires basic plumbing knowledge and the ability to turn off your heating system and handle water. If you are not comfortable with these tasks, it is recommended to hire a qualified plumber.

This twin pack is designed for 15/10mm pipe sizes and standard domestic radiator systems. The 'angle' configuration is specific to radiators where the pipework enters the radiator at an angle.

The drain-off function is primarily for maintenance. You might use it if you need to bleed air from the radiator, replace the radiator, or perform other servicing. It's not typically needed for regular operation.

Ensure the TRV is not set to the '0' (frost protection) setting. Check that the lockshield valve is fully open. Verify that the pin on the TRV is not stuck; if it is, try to free it gently with pliers (ensure the system is off and cool).

Check that the TRV head is correctly fitted and that the pin can move freely. Ensure the lockshield valve is not fully open if you require lower heat output. Consider if the TRV setting corresponds correctly to the desired room temperature.

Turn off the system, drain the radiator, and re-tighten the compression nuts. If the leak persists, you may need to re-tape the threads or replace the internal seal.

Ensure the valve is fully closed. If it continues to drip, the internal washer may need replacing. Turn off the system, drain the radiator, and replace the washer.
