The Exo Terra Barrel Cactus is designed for reptile and amphibian hobbyists who want to create a lush, naturalistic terrarium environment without the maintenance requirements of live vegetation. It is perfect for arid or desert setups where live plants would typically wither, offering a durable and visually accurate solution that provides essential cover for pets. While it excels in ease of care, it does not provide the natural air-purifying benefits or humidity regulation of live foliage.

Yes, it is designed specifically for desert terrariums and is made from non-toxic materials.
Absolutely. It can be used to complement live plants and provide immediate cover for animals before live plants have fully matured.
No, the cactus is molded from soft, safe plastic that mimics the appearance of a cactus without the sharp, dangerous spikes.
Use a reptile-safe disinfectant spray or soak in a diluted vinegar solution, then rinse thoroughly and air dry.
The plant is constructed from high-quality, durable materials designed to resist fading even with consistent exposure to terrarium lighting.
Remove the plant and rinse it under warm water; use a soft brush to dislodge stubborn particles from the crevices.
Ensure the base is pushed firmly into the substrate or place a small flat rock against the base to anchor it.
Setup is straightforward: simply place the cactus on the substrate in your desired location. For added stability in loose sand or loose substrate, bury the base slightly. Compatibility is universal across all dry terrarium types. To clean, remove the cactus from the enclosure and rinse under warm running water. For deeper sanitization, you can soak the plant in a mild, reptile-safe disinfectant solution and scrub away any waste with a soft-bristled brush. Ensure the plant is completely dry before returning it to the habitat.
