FAQs

What is the warranty period for the Sloomy Madison Plush Divan Set?

The divan set comes with a 1-year guarantee.

Can I flip the mattress?

No, this mattress is single-sided and designed to be used on its non-slip base. You should rotate it head-to-toe regularly instead of flipping it.

What type of mattress support does it offer?

It features a durable open-coil spring system providing medium comfort and balanced support.

How do I choose the right fabric and color?

Consider your existing bedroom decor. Options include Plush Velvet, Naples, Coniston, or Dumfries, available in various neutral and statement shades.

Is this divan set suitable for everyday heavy use?

While built for durability, the mattress is highlighted as ideal for spare/occasional use. For very heavy daily use, monitor mattress wear and ensure regular rotation.

What are the dimensions of the headboard?

The headboard is a 54-inch strutted design with full-height fluted panels.

Are there storage options available with this divan set?

This specific listing is for the standard divan set. Variant options with drawers are available separately, such as the 'Sloomy Madison Plush Divan Set - 2 Drawers'.

Troubleshooting

Divan base wobbles

Ensure all assembly bolts are tightened securely. Check that the chrome gliders are firmly attached and level.

Mattress feels uneven

Ensure the mattress is correctly positioned on the platform top. Rotate the mattress head-to-toe if it's been in place for a while to even out wear.

Fabric on divan or headboard looks dirty

Gently spot clean with a mild, damp cloth and a small amount of upholstery cleaner if necessary. Always test in an inconspicuous area first. Avoid soaking the fabric.

Headboard is loose

Check the bolts connecting the headboard struts to the divan base and tighten them. Ensure the headboard is correctly aligned with the pre-drilled holes.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Provides a stable and even mattress foundation with its platform-top construction.
  • Features an elegant and stylish 54-inch fluted headboard.
  • Offers a choice of luxurious fabrics to match various bedroom decors.
  • The medium-firm mattress provides balanced support and pressure relief.
  • Built with UK craftsmanship for enhanced durability.

Cons

  • The mattress is single-sided and requires a non-slip base, meaning it cannot be flipped.
  • Mattress depth is 10 inches, which might be lower than some user preferences.
  • Handles are not included on the mattress for easier rotation.
  • Designed for occasional use, it may not be the most suitable for very heavy daily use without considering mattress longevity.
  • The open-coil spring system, while durable, may not offer the same advanced contouring as pocket springs.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Assemble the divan base according to the provided instructions, ensuring all connections are secure.
  2. Attach the headboard to the divan base using the provided struts and fittings.
  3. Place the mattress onto the platform top. Ensure it sits evenly.
  4. Attach the chrome gliders to the base of the divan.

Compatibility:

  • The divan base is designed to work optimally with the included mattress or any mattress of the same size and type that does not exceed the weight capacity.
  • Ensure the mattress is placed with the knitted cover facing upwards and on the non-slip base.

Care:

  • Divan Base: Clean the fabric with a slightly damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive moisture. Vacuum regularly using an upholstery attachment.
  • Mattress: Since the mattress is single-sided, it cannot be flipped. Rotate it head-to-toe regularly (e.g., monthly) to ensure even wear. Spot clean any spills immediately with a clean, damp cloth and allow to air dry completely. Do not saturate the mattress.
  • Headboard: Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning of fabric headboards, follow the specific care instructions for the chosen fabric type.
