The Kowa BD II 10x42 XD Binoculars are designed for all-around birding with improved magnification. They offer a 7.2-degree field of view, a close focus of 1.8 meters, and weigh only 645g. These binoculars feature Kowa's XD (eXtra-low) dispersion glass, which has characteristics similar to fluorite crystal, providing exceptional light transmission and edge-to-edge clarity. The rugged and lightweight magnesium alloy construction is enhanced with KR coating to prevent dirt and residue on external optics. The third generation in the BD line-up, the BDII XD takes over from the popular BD XD range, designed to be affordable without compromise. The legendary XD lenses are not just ED glass; they contain large amounts of the mineral fluorite crystal, the best material for optical makers, offering unchallenged light transmission, edge-to-edge definition, and zero chromatic aberration. The optical tubes are O-ring sealed and nitrogen-infused for water and fog resistance, making them suitable for all climatic conditions. They also feature an expanded field of view and comfortable eye relief for optimal viewing comfort. The close focus distance of 1.8m helps observe and locate the smallest details with ease. The binoculars have a delicate magnesium alloy chassis with a rubber-armoured layer for protection from dents, scratches, and accidental impacts.
