Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Spread tile adhesive evenly on the substrate and the back of the tile.
- Place the tile onto the substrate.
- Insert a clip from the GTV system under the edge of the tile, ensuring it is positioned correctly relative to adjacent tiles.
- Use the reusable crimping pliers to engage the wedge and pull it into the clip, drawing adjacent tiles to the same level.
- Ensure the wedge is firmly seated but avoid over-tightening.
- Once the adhesive has fully cured, break off the clip heads (usually by kicking them or tapping with a rubber mallet) and remove the plastic bases.
Compatibility:
This system is compatible with most types of floor and wall tiles, including ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, and large-format tiles. The available clip thicknesses (1 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm, 2.5 mm, 3 mm) allow for adjustment to match different tile thicknesses and desired grout joint widths. It works well with standard tile adhesives.
Care:
- Clean clips and wedges after each use to remove excess adhesive, ensuring they are free of debris for future applications.
- Wipe down the crimping pliers with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Store all components in a dry place to prevent corrosion or damage.
