Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Prepare the Site: Dig the area for your concrete foundation to the required depth and width.
- Position the Bracket: Place the Taskar bracket into the foundation area, ensuring the spike is fully exposed and the mounting plate is at the desired height for your timber.
- Pour Concrete: Carefully pour concrete around the spike and into the foundation area, ensuring no air pockets.
- Level and Set: Ensure the bracket is perfectly vertical and level before the concrete begins to set. Allow adequate drying/curing time for the concrete.
- Attach Timber: Once the concrete is fully cured, use appropriate screws to fix your timber post or sleeper to the pre-drilled holes on the bracket plate.
Compatibility:
- Timber: Suitable for use with standard timber posts and sleepers.
- Masonry/Concrete: Designed to be set into wet concrete or cement foundations.
- Fixings: Requires standard wood screws (not supplied) for attaching timber to the bracket plate.
Care:
The bracket is made from heavy-duty mild steel with a powder coating for durability. Clean with a damp cloth if necessary. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the coating. Regular inspection for any signs of corrosion is recommended, especially in harsh environments.
