The Thermocut 27080 is designed for use with foam materials, polystyrene, and similar materials. Always test on a scrap piece first.
The Thermocut 27080 does not have a temperature control dial. The correct temperature is learned through experience and depends on the material type and thickness. Start low and increase temperature as needed.
Unscrew the wire holder and replace the wire. Ensure the new wire is correctly secured and taut.
The Thermocut 27080 is designed with safety in mind. The cutting wire operates at a low voltage (10V), minimizing the risk of electric shock. However, always follow safety guidelines.
Use a soft brush or a slightly damp cloth to wipe the table and other parts of the machine. Make sure the unit is unplugged and cooled before cleaning.
The cutting wire has a diameter of 0.2mm.
The throat depth of the Proxxon Thermocut is 350mm.
The height capacity is 140mm.
Check the power connection, ensure the unit is switched on, and inspect the cutting wire for any breaks or damage.
Adjust the cutting speed and/or the temperature. Make sure the wire is taut and the material is stable. It could also be due to the wrong temperature for the material being used.
Ensure that the cutting wire is not overheating. Check the material for any melting or burning. Make sure the ventilation is appropriate for the material being cut.
