It is suitable for most soil types, although very hard soil may require extra effort to penetrate.

Clean the stainless steel head after each use and wipe the wooden handle with a damp cloth. Store in a dry place.

Ensure the soil is not overly compacted. Try softening the soil with water or a digging fork before using the planter. Apply firm, even pressure while pushing the planter into the ground, utilizing the tread edge to assist in the penetration.

Clean the head frequently with a trowel or brush. If the soil is particularly sticky, try lightly oiling the head before planting.
