The NGK Ignition Coil U1081 is designed for Audi owners seeking a reliable, OEM-grade replacement to maintain optimal engine performance and ignition consistency. Yes, the U1081 is a 100% genuine NGK ignition coil.
This model features a 2-pin connector.
While you can replace a single faulty unit, many technicians recommend replacing all coils at once if the vehicle has high mileage.
Common symptoms include engine misfires, flashing check engine lights, or a rough, shaky idle.
The package includes the ignition coil unit; it is designed to use the existing mounting points on your Audi engine.
Verify that the spark plugs are also in good condition, as an old plug can damage a new coil.
Inspect the wiring harness for debris or damaged plastic tabs before attempting to reconnect.
Installation should be performed while the engine is cool to prevent burns and to ensure proper sealing of the ignition system components. Always disconnect the negative battery terminal before beginning work to prevent electrical shorts. When installing, ensure the 2-pin connector clicks firmly into place to provide a watertight seal against moisture and engine oil. To maintain the life of the unit, avoid pressure-washing your engine bay directly over the ignition coils, as moisture intrusion remains the leading cause of premature electrical component failure.
