Ensure the pencil is fully engaged in the ratchet teeth and the locking mechanism is clicked into one of the 16 fixed positions.
Maintain consistent pressure against the reference surface and move the tool at a steady, slow pace to allow the contour follower to track correctly.

To begin, ensure the Tracer Pencil 2.0 is properly inserted into the tool housing until it clicks into the desired position. For parallel marking, select the mode corresponding to your required measurement range (1-20mm or 20-100mm) by adjusting the ratchet dial. Always store the tool in the provided hard case when not in use to protect the lead tip from impact. Keep the lead dispenser in the holster for quick access. Clean the body of the tool with a dry cloth periodically to remove dust or debris, and ensure the ratchet teeth are free of heavy grit to maintain smooth adjustment cycles.
