FAQs

Can the highchair really be used by an adult?

Yes, once the baby attachments are removed and the seat and footrest are adjusted to the correct positions, the chair is engineered to support the weight of an adult.

Is the tray dishwasher safe?

The tray is designed to be wiped clean with a damp cloth; refer to your manual for specific dishwasher compatibility as some finishes may be damaged by high heat.

How do I switch between the bouncer and the highchair seat?

The bouncer clips into the top of the frame for newborns; once the child is older, the bouncer is removed and the seat board is installed using the provided hardware.

What is the purpose of the seat reducer?

The seat reducer provides padding and support to keep infants upright and comfortable when they are transitioning to sitting independently.

Is the 5-point harness required for all ages?

The harness is essential for infants and toddlers to prevent them from standing up or sliding out. It can be removed once the child is older and does not require the added security.

Troubleshooting

The chair feels wobbly after assembly.

Check that all side screws are tightened evenly and the floor surface is level.

Difficulty inserting the seat or footrest board into the slots.

Ensure the side frame screws are loosened slightly to create enough clearance for the boards to slide into the grooves.

Harness straps are twisted or tight.

Unthread the straps from the back plate, untwist them, and re-thread following the user manual diagram.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Supports a wide age range from birth to 99 years
  • Complete bundle includes all necessary newborn and infant attachments
  • Highly adjustable seat and footrest heights
  • Sturdy construction provides excellent stability
  • Easily integrates into standard dining room setups

Cons

  • Requires significant assembly time compared to non-modular chairs
  • Adjusting the seat and footrest settings can take time to fine-tune
  • Requires dedicated storage space for attachments when not in use

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Proper assembly is critical for the safety of the Hauck Alpha Premium. Begin by following the manual strictly to install the 5-point harness and crotch strap correctly. The seat and footrest positions should be modified by unscrewing the side panels, adjusting the boards to the desired height, and ensuring all screws are fully tightened to prevent wobbling. For daily care, wipe the wooden surfaces with a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid harsh chemicals that might strip the finish. The cushions and fabric inserts are generally surface washable or removable for laundering—check the specific care labels on the fabric parts before machine washing.
