Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
This cable uses standard RJ45 connectors and can be terminated using standard network installation tools. It supports both straight-through wiring (T568A or T568B on both ends, typically used for connecting devices to a hub/switch) and cross-over wiring (T568A on one end, T568B on the other, used for directly connecting two devices like computers without a switch).
Compatibility:
This CAT6 cable is backward compatible with CAT5 and CAT5e standards and forward compatible with CAT7 and CAT8 standards, though performance will be limited by the lowest-rated component in the network. It is compatible with all standard networking equipment featuring RJ45 ports, including routers, switches, modems, computers, game consoles, and AV devices.
Care:
- Avoid sharp bends or kinks, which can damage the internal conductors.
- Protect the cable from excessive heat, moisture, and physical abrasion.
- Clean the cable exterior with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Ensure connectors are free from dust and debris.
