Leaf springs, one of the oldest forms of suspension systems, have remained prevalent in light commercial and 4WD vehicles due to their ability to evenly distribute loads across the chassis. There are two primary types: multi-leaf springs, featuring a trapezoidal design with stacked, differently-sized leaves that create load variations due to friction between leaves during compression and decompression, and parabolic springs, designed for low internal friction and minimum weight with fewer leaves in a parabolic shape to minimize bending stress. The strength and safety of the leaf spring eyes are critical for safety. U-bolts secure the spring's center to the vehicle axle. Manufacturing processes include leaf preparation, bending, heat treatment, shot peening, assembly, presetting, and surface treatment to ensure strength and corrosion protection, with manufacturing plants complying with quality assurance and environmental standards. For safety and OE handling characteristics, it is recommended that leaf springs are always replaced in axle pairs. Changing a spring can be dangerous, and following a recognized repair manual for replacement is advised. When removing a leaf spring, first unfasten it from the axle and then from the vehicle body's fitting points. Check and clean all fitting points, repairing or replacing them as necessary. Always replace U-bolts (spring clamps). When replacing a leaf spring, first fasten it to the vehicle body's fitting points and then to the axle. It is important to ensure that U-bolts are properly tightened to the correct torque level, as specified in a recognized repair manual. There should be no movement of the spring between the U-bolts; any breakage between the U-bolts will be due to insufficient tightening and will not be covered by warranty. ROC leaf springs are made to the highest standard from top-quality steel in an ISO9001 environment. All springs are inspected and tested before delivery, and all ROC leaf springs are produced and finished to OEM standards.
