Lightly oil the pan and heat it briefly on the stove to help restore the surface finish.
Before initial use, wash the pan thoroughly with mild soap and water to remove any manufacturing residue. While the thermo-treatment provides built-in resistance to rust, it is recommended to dry the pan completely over low heat after washing to ensure moisture is fully evaporated. Avoid using harsh metal scrapers that might damage the surface treatment. When cleaning, keep in mind that the pan may leave dark iron particulates on your cloth or sponge; this is an inherent trait of the material and does not indicate a defect, nor does it impact food safety. Store in a dry place to maintain its condition for years to come.
