The Hygiplas Serrated Slicer (30.5cm) is an essential tool for professional chefs and home cooks who frequently slice crusty bread, bagels, and pastries. This knife provides the key benefit of clean, effortless cuts without crushing delicate structures, though users should note that the serrated blade is best reserved for bread and soft-skinned vegetables rather than precision meat carving. Designed for heavy-duty use, it combines a sharp, durable edge with a hygienic, easy-to-clean construction suitable for high-volume kitchen environments.

Yes, the handle and blade are designed to be dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to prolong edge sharpness.
While it can cut cooked meats or sausages, it is primarily designed as a bread slicer and will not provide the precision of a straight-edge carving knife.
You should use a tapered sharpening rod that fits into the gullets of the serrations to sharpen each tooth individually.
The blade measures 30.5cm, which is suitable for standard and large artisanal loaves.
The handle is designed for a secure, ergonomic grip suitable for professional environments, providing stability during repetitive slicing tasks.
The blade likely needs sharpening. Use a serrated-specific sharpening rod to realign and hone the teeth.
Ensure the knife is thoroughly dried immediately after washing. Avoid leaving it in standing water or damp dishwasher environments for extended periods.
There is no complex assembly required for this slicer; it is ready to use immediately out of the package. While the handle is dishwasher safe, it is recommended to place the knife in a secure position within the dishwasher to prevent contact with other metal objects, which could dull the serrations. For optimal longevity, hand washing is encouraged to preserve the sharpness of the steel for a longer period. Store the knife in a knife block or on a magnetic strip rather than a cluttered utensil drawer to prevent the blade from coming into contact with other tools. Should the edge eventually dull, use a sharpening rod designed specifically for serrated edges to maintain the cutting profile.
