Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Prepare Your Workspace: Cover your work area with newspaper or a drop cloth to protect surfaces from spills.
- Gather Supplies: Have your brushes, palette, water for cleaning, and chosen painting surface ready.
- Shake Before Use: Gently shake the paint bottle before opening to ensure pigments are well-mixed.
- Dispense Paint: Squeeze a small amount of paint onto your palette. Start with less, as you can always add more.
Compatibility:
Art Studio Acrylic Paints are `multi-purpose` and adhere well to a wide variety of surfaces, including:
- Canvas and stretched canvas
- Paper and cardstock
- Wood and MDF
- Fabric (may require a textile medium for permanent, washable results)
- Ceramics and terracotta (may require a sealant for durability)
- Stone and plaster
Always ensure your chosen surface is clean, dry, and free of grease or dust for optimal adhesion. For very smooth or non-porous surfaces like glass or metal, a gesso or universal primer may improve paint adhesion.
Care:
- Brush Cleaning: Clean brushes immediately after use with warm water and soap. Do not allow paint to dry on brushes, as acrylics are permanent once dry.
- Palette Cleaning: Scrape off excess wet paint from your palette. Dried acrylic paint can be peeled off non-porous palettes.
- Paint Storage: Ensure bottle caps are tightly sealed after each use to prevent the paint from drying out. Store bottles upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
