Curry Plant (10-20cm) Garden Plant is a distinctive aromatic herb with leaves that emit a strong curry aroma. Its compact size and unique flavor make it a standout addition to herb gardens. Commonly known as the curry plant, Helichrysum Italicum is an attractive garden herb with shimmering, silvery, linear foliage. It works well in flower beds and borders, contrasting beautifully with darker plants. In summer, domed clusters of tiny yellow flowers appear, attracting bees and other pollinators to the garden. Unsurprisingly given the name, the foliage is highly scented with a spicy, curry-like fragrance. The leaves are edible and can be used to flavour salads, rice, and egg dishes. The flowers can be harvested to make herbal teas. Helichrysum Italicum is easy to care for in the right conditions. It is drought-tolerant, preferring well-drained soil, and likes a sunny position out of strong winds. While curry plants grow well in pots and containers, they need additional insulation to prevent the roots from frost damage.
