Choisya ‘Aztec Pearl’ is a fascinating flowering variety, popular for its bright clusters of white flowers that grow in contrast with long dark green leaves. This medium-sized evergreen shrub creates a neat mound building up natural floral interest in your garden. Its flowers are citrus scented, hence the name ‘Mexican Orange’. Aztec Pearl is a sun loving shrub. It will perform both in full sunlight or shade. Its leaves grow brighter when planted in a moist acidic soil, regularly drained. Young delicate roots generally dislike clogged water, but once they establish, they will acquire tolerance against drought. Choisya Aztec Pearl will bloom clusters of white flowers with yellow stamens, profusely in late spring. The plant will rebloom flowers in late summer or autumn. This prolonged flowering period makes Aztec Pearl a wonderful hedging or screening shrub. Any pruning has to be done right after the flowering period.
