FAQs

What is the difference between a platform-top base and a sprung-slat base?

A platform-top base provides a solid, even surface for your mattress, offering consistent support. A sprung-slat base uses flexible wooden slats, which can offer a more responsive feel but may not provide as uniform support as a platform top.

Can I choose a different fabric than Naples?

Yes, the Sofia Gold divan base is available in other Sloomy fabric collections such as Plush Velvet, Coniston, and Dumfries. Please check the product options for available choices.

How many drawers can I get with this base?

For Small Single and Single sizes, options include no drawers or 2 drawers. For Small Double, Double, King, and Super King sizes, options typically include no drawers, 2 drawers, or 4 drawers (depending on the specific configuration available).

Is the headboard included with the divan base?

Yes, a 26-inch strutted Chesterfield headboard is included as standard with the Sofia Gold divan base.

How is the bed base delivered?

The divan base is delivered in sections. For smaller sizes (Small Single, Single), it's usually a 1-piece base. Larger sizes (Double and above) typically come as a 2-piece base for easier handling and maneuverability.

What are the chrome gliders for?

The chrome gliders are small feet that attach to the bottom of the divan base. They protect your flooring from scratches and make it easier to slide the bed when needed for cleaning or repositioning.

What is the warranty period for this bed base?

Product warranty information is typically provided by the retailer. Please refer to your purchase confirmation or the retailer's website for specific warranty details.

Troubleshooting

Bed frame feels unstable or creaks.

Ensure all metal fixings and clips are fully tightened. Check that the bed is on a level surface. If the issue persists, contact customer support.

Drawers are difficult to open or close.

Verify that the bed frame is level. Check for any obstructions in the drawer runners. Ensure the drawers are correctly seated within their runners.

Headboard is wobbly.

Confirm that the headboard struts are securely bolted to the divan base and that the bolts are fully tightened. Ensure the headboard is aligned correctly.

Fabric appears creased upon arrival.

Fabric may naturally crease during transit. Use a low-heat iron on a cloth placed over the fabric, or allow the fabric to settle for a few days; creases usually disappear over time.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: The Sofia Gold Divan Base is designed for straightforward assembly. It typically arrives in sections that require connecting using the provided fixings and pre-fitted metal clips. The headboard attaches via struts and bolts. It is recommended to have two people for assembly, especially for larger sizes. Ensure all fixings are tightened securely.

Compatibility: This divan base is compatible with all standard mattress types. The platform-top design works well with memory foam, hybrid, and traditional sprung mattresses. Ensure your chosen mattress is compatible with divan bases.

Care: To maintain the appearance of the Naples fabric, regularly vacuum with an upholstery attachment. For spills or marks, use a clean, slightly damp cloth and blot the area gently. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. The chrome gliders can be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth. Periodically check that all fixings remain tight.
