Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
This is a Plug and Play device. Simply connect one RJ-45 connector to your network device (e.g., computer, router, switch) and the other RJ-45 connector to your network port. Ensure the connectors click securely into place.
Compatibility:
- Backward Compatibility: Cat6a cables are fully backward compatible with Cat6 and Cat5E standards. This means they can be used with devices that only support older Ethernet standards, though the connection will operate at the speed of the slowest component.
- Connector Type: Features standard RJ-45 connectors, compatible with virtually all Ethernet ports on computers, routers, switches, game consoles, smart TVs, and other networking equipment.
Care:
- Cleaning: To clean the cable, disconnect it from all devices. Use a dry, soft cloth. Avoid using liquids or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the insulation or connectors.
- Handling: While the flat design is durable, avoid sharp bends or kinks, especially near the connectors, as this can damage the internal conductors. Do not place excessive weight on the cable.
- Storage: If storing the cable, coil it loosely rather than tightly, and keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
