You'll notice increased resistance when cutting, rougher cut edges, or the need to push the router harder than usual. The bit may also appear dull.

While some rotary tools accept 1/4" shank accessories, these bits are designed for standard routers. Compatibility with smaller rotary tools is not guaranteed and may not provide sufficient power or stability.

TCT stands for Tungsten Carbide Tipped. These tips are significantly harder and more wear-resistant than standard steel, allowing the bit to stay sharper for longer and handle harder materials.

It's recommended to clean bits after each significant use to maintain performance and prevent resin buildup, which can affect cut quality and bit lifespan.

The shank is the part of the bit that inserts into the router's collet. A 1/4" shank is a common size that fits most standard routers.

Ensure the bit is sharp and has been resharpened if necessary. Check that the bit is securely tightened in the collet and that the router speed is appropriate for the material and cut type.

The bit shank may not be fully inserted into the collet, or the collet may not be tightened properly. Ensure the bit is clean and the collet is free of debris before inserting and tightening.

Ensure you are using the correct size collet for the 1/4" shank. Clean both the bit shank and the inside of the collet to remove any dirt or residue that might be causing friction.
