Product Information

Full details

The Give Me Slick Back Styling Set is designed for anyone looking to achieve professional-level sleek hairstyles, including slick backs, polished ponytails, and defined edges. It offers exceptional control for smoothing flyaways and styling delicate baby hairs, making it a versatile tool for natural, relaxed, or protective hair types. While the set is highly effective for styling and smoothing, it is a manual tool and does not provide hold on its own, meaning it must be paired with your preferred edge control or styling gel to achieve a long-lasting finish.

FAQs

Can I use these brushes on wet hair?

Yes, they are safe for use on damp hair, though they are primarily intended for styling and smoothing rather than detangling.

Are the brushes suitable for synthetic wigs?

Yes, the brushes can be used on synthetic hair, provided you are gentle to avoid snagging the fibers.

What is the best way to lay down baby hairs?

Apply a small amount of edge control or gel to your hairline, then use the small brush end of the duo-end tool to swoop and define the hair.

Can I use this set with a hairdryer?

You can use them alongside a hairdryer on a low-heat setting to 'set' your style, but avoid holding the heat source too close to the brush bristles.

How long should the brushes last?

With proper care and regular cleaning, these durable styling tools are designed to last for a significant period of daily use.

Do the brushes come with a storage case?

The set does not include a dedicated case, but its compact size allows for easy storage in any standard beauty bag.

Troubleshooting

Brush is slipping during use

Ensure your hands are free of excess styling product or oils to maintain the effectiveness of the soft-touch grip.

Product residue buildup on bristles

Clean the brush head with a soft cloth dipped in warm water and mild soap, then allow it to air dry.

Difficulty smoothing thick hair

Apply a stronger hold styling gel and work in smaller sections to ensure the large brush can adequately flatten the hair.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Ergonomic handle reduces hand fatigue during styling
  • Duo-end brush offers high precision for baby hair
  • Large brush covers significant surface area quickly
  • Soft-touch material ensures a firm, non-slip grip
  • Compact enough for travel and storage

Cons

  • Requires the use of external styling product for hold
  • Brushes are strictly for styling and not for detangling thick knots
  • Black finish may show residue from styling gels if not cleaned regularly

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: There is no assembly required for these tools. They are ready to use immediately out of the packaging.

Compatibility: These brushes are compatible with all hair types, including fine, thick, curly, and coily textures. They work best in conjunction with styling gels, pomades, or edge control creams.

Care Instructions:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the brush heads with a damp cloth after each use to remove excess gel or hair spray buildup.
  • Deep Clean: For a deeper clean, gently rinse the bristles under lukewarm water with a small amount of mild shampoo. Ensure they are completely air-dried with the bristles facing down before storing.
  • Storage: Keep in a dry place to maintain the integrity of the soft-touch grip material.
