Setup, Compatibility & Care
No complex setup is required; the tool is ready for immediate use. For maintenance, it is important to keep the file clean of metal filings (swarf), which can clog the teeth and reduce cutting efficiency. Use a specialized file card or wire brush to clean the grooves periodically.
To ensure longevity:
- Store the file in a dry location to prevent rust.
- Avoid dropping the file on concrete floors, as the hardened steel can be brittle and prone to chipping.
- Keep the file stored separately from other hardened tools to avoid damaging the teeth.
