Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Sow the seed mixture directly onto prepared soil. Ensure the soil is free from weeds and has a reasonably fine tilth. Rake the soil lightly after sowing to lightly cover the seeds. For best results, sow in spring, avoiding periods of late frost. The recommended sowing rate for the standard English Meadow mix is 1g/m². For 'Colour Boost' mixtures, use 3-5g/m². To ensure even coverage and prevent wastage, especially with finer seed mixes, it is highly recommended to mix the seeds with a carrier like Rehofix MK1500 corn skin granules before sowing.
Compatibility: This seed mix thrives in sunny locations and prefers soils that retain moisture. It is not ideal for deeply shaded areas or land that is heavily prone to weed infestation. It is compatible with most standard garden soil types, provided they meet the light and moisture requirements.
Care: Minimal care is required once established. Water during prolonged dry spells if necessary. Generally, the plants are self-sufficient. Deadheading is not typically necessary for this type of wildflower mix as it is designed to complete its annual life cycle.
