Mending Plate - Silver

The provided screws are generally suitable for most common wood types. For very hard or dense woods, pre-drilling pilot holes is recommended to prevent splitting.

While the silver finish is intended to be functional, you could potentially prime and paint the plate if desired, although this may affect its corrosion resistance over time.

You will typically need a screwdriver (Phillips or flathead, depending on the screw type) and potentially a drill for pilot holes.

The silver finish offers some protection against the elements, but prolonged exposure to harsh outdoor conditions may lead to wear. For critical outdoor applications, consider additional protective coatings.

While primarily designed for wood, they can sometimes be used on other materials like plastics or thin metal if appropriate screws and fixing methods are employed, but performance may vary.

Ensure the surface is flat and free from debris. If attaching to uneven surfaces, consider using a thicker screw or a shim.

Use a screwdriver that fits the screw head snugly. If difficulty persists, pre-drill pilot holes slightly smaller than the screw thread diameter.

This is uncommon with the silver finish. Clean gently with a soft cloth. For persistent spots, a mild metal polish might be used cautiously, followed by a dry wipe.
