Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Determine the desired placement on your door.
- Mark the positions for the fixing bolts using the knocker as a template, ensuring the bolt centres align with the pre-drilled holes.
- Drill pilot holes for the bolts.
- Insert the bolts from the rear of the door, passing them through the door.
- Align the door knocker with the bolts and secure it by tightening the nuts or backplates on the inside of the door.
Compatibility:
This door knocker is suitable for most solid wooden or composite doors. Ensure there is sufficient depth for the fixing bolts. It is not recommended for metal doors unless appropriate adapters or drilling methods are used.
Care:
To maintain the antique brass finish, periodically wipe the knocker with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn marks, use a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishes, as these can damage the finish and the protective lacquer.
