Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility: This sensor is designed for specific Audi, VW, Seat, and Skoda models equipped with 1.9 and 2.0 TDI engines. Please verify your vehicle's compatibility using the provided OEM part numbers (03L 906 088 BS, 03L906088BS, 3L 906 088 BS) and the list of compatible models before purchase.
Installation:
- Ensure the engine is completely cool before starting.
- Locate the existing EGT sensor in the exhaust system.
- Carefully disconnect the electrical connector.
- Unscrew and remove the old sensor. Note the orientation.
- Screw in the new D2P EGT sensor by hand to avoid cross-threading.
- Tighten the sensor to the specified torque of 45 Nm using a torque wrench. *Overtightening or undertightening can lead to sensor failure or exhaust leaks.*
- Reconnect the electrical connector securely.
- Clear any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) with an OBD-II scanner.
Care: The EGT sensor is a sealed unit and generally requires no routine maintenance. However, ensure the exhaust system is free from severe corrosion or damage that could affect the sensor's mounting point. Keep the electrical connector clean and free from debris.
