FAQs

When is the best time to plant these Viola Mix plants?

These violas can be planted from spring through autumn. They will bloom through summer and again in autumn.

How often should I water my Viola Mix plants?

Water regularly to keep the soil moist, but avoid overwatering. Allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Good drainage is essential.

Can these plants be grown indoors?

While they can add color to a patio or balcony, these bedding plants are best suited for outdoor garden environments with ample sunlight.

What does 'dormant state' mean for plants?

A dormant state means the plant is resting and may not show active growth or foliage, typically during colder months or after pruning, to conserve energy and prepare for new growth.

How long will these plants bloom?

These violas are known to bloom throughout the summer months and will often provide a second flush of flowers in the autumn period.

What kind of soil is best for planting Violas?

Violas prefer moist, well-drained soil. Ensuring good drainage in pots or garden beds is key to preventing root rot.

Can I plant these in a mixed container with other flowers?

Yes, their compact size and versatile nature make them suitable for planting in mixed containers alongside other compatible flowers.

Troubleshooting

Plants appear dormant or lack leaves upon arrival.

This is normal depending on the season. Plants may be supplied in a dormant state or pruned back to encourage new growth. Plant them as directed and provide appropriate care; they will establish and grow.

Viola plants are not blooming profusely.

Ensure the plants are receiving adequate sunlight (full sun is recommended) and are being watered regularly but not excessively. Apply a feed every 4-6 weeks.

Yellowing leaves or wilting.

This can indicate overwatering. Check the soil moisture and allow it to dry slightly before watering again. Ensure the pot or soil has good drainage.

Pests on the plants.

Inspect plants regularly. Address common garden pests with appropriate, gentle treatments suitable for flowering plants.
