Its main purpose is to provide a safe nesting and overwintering habitat for beneficial garden insects like solitary bees and ladybirds, supporting garden biodiversity.

It is handcrafted from FSC certified pine, ensuring sustainable sourcing.

The best location is a sunny, sheltered spot, attached to a house, fence, or propped against a stable surface, away from harsh weather.

Minimal cleaning is needed. Avoid chemical treatments. You can gently clear debris from entrances and lightly sand external surfaces if they become very weathered.

This house is primarily designed for solitary bees and smaller beneficial insects, not honeybees, which live in larger colonies.

The dimensions are approximately 300mm in height, 200mm in width, and 110mm in depth.

It is not recommended to paint or treat the wood, especially the interior, as chemicals can be harmful to insects and deter them from using the habitat.

Ensure the house is placed in a suitable sunny and sheltered location. Check if there are nearby plants that attract pollinators or beneficial insects. Be patient, as it may take time for insects to discover and utilize the habitat.

This is natural weathering. No immediate action is needed. If significant degradation occurs, avoid chemical treatments. Light sanding of external surfaces can be done if necessary.

Gently clear any accumulated leaves, dirt, or spiderwebs from the entrance of the tubes using a small stick or brush. Ensure this is done outside of nesting seasons if possible.
