Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setting up the kit involves mounting the tom-tom to the bass drum, attaching the snare to its stand, and positioning the cymbal rod. Ensure all wing nuts are tightened securely to prevent the drums from shifting during play. For optimal sound, check the tension of the drum heads periodically; they should be firm but not overly tightened to avoid cracking the skin. To maintain the kit, wipe the chrome hardware with a soft, dry cloth to prevent fingerprints and dust buildup. If the drums are stored for extended periods, place them in a cool, dry area to protect the drum shells and hardware finishes. Avoid exposing the drum heads to direct sunlight, which can cause the material to become brittle over time.
