Buff Packaging Tape is an ideal adhesive solution for individuals and businesses needing a reliable way to seal parcels for transit or storage. FAQs
Is this tape compatible with standard tape guns?
Yes, the 48mm width is a standard size that fits most manual handheld tape dispensers.
Can this be used for outdoor shipping?
The tape is designed for standard transit conditions, but prolonged exposure to extreme weather or moisture may degrade the bond over time.
How many rolls are included in one pack?
This product comes as a 6-pack of individual rolls.
Does this tape leave a sticky residue if removed?
The adhesive is formulated for a permanent bond with cardboard; it may leave residue if removed from surfaces it was not intended for.
Is the tape completely opaque?
No, it features a translucent brown finish that blends with brown parcel paper, though it is not fully opaque.
What is the primary material?
The tape is manufactured from durable polypropylene plastic.
Troubleshooting
Tape is difficult to tear by hand
Use a standard tape dispenser or scissors; the polypropylene material is designed for strength, not easy hand-tearing.
Adhesion feels weak on the box
Ensure the surface is free of dust or oils and use a firm, sweeping motion with your hand over the taped area to activate the adhesive.
Tape is splitting or fraying while pulling
Check your tape dispenser for sharp burrs or debris on the cutting blade that may be damaging the edges of the tape.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- High-strength polypropylene construction
- Excellent adhesion to cardboard surfaces
- Generous 66-metre roll length per unit
- Discreet finish for standard parcel packaging
- Convenient 6-pack bundle for value
Cons
- Translucent tint may not match all packaging colors
- Not intended for heavy-duty industrial shipping (e.g., steel crates)
- Requires a dispenser for maximum efficiency
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To achieve the best seal, store your rolls in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as excessive heat can affect the adhesive properties over time. When applying, ensure the parcel flaps are flush and clean of dust or moisture. If using a tape gun, ensure the tensioner is set to provide enough resistance to keep the tape taut without stretching it to the point of breaking. For manual application, simply pull the desired length, press down, and smooth out with your hand to remove air bubbles.
