The Park Tool CC-4.2 Chain Checker is a drop-in gauge designed to measure bicycle chain wear. Its laser-cut design accurately assesses a long section of the chain, making contact at three strategic points to quickly and easily determine when chain replacement is necessary. This tool is compatible with any 5 to 13-speed derailleur chain, including SRAM® T-Type, SRAM® Flattop™, Shimano® XTR® 12-speed, and Campagnolo® Ekar 13-speed chains, as well as single-speed chains. It is engineered to accurately indicate when a chain reaches 0.5%, 0.75%, and 1.0% wear, the points at which most chain manufacturers recommend replacement.
