E-AUDIO Stereo Phono Pre-Amplifier - Silver

Yes, this unit is a pre-amplifier, meaning it boosts the turntable's signal to a 'line level'. You still need a main amplifier or powered speakers to amplify this signal further to a usable volume.

It requires a standard 9V battery, which is not included with the product.

Yes, if your computer has a line-in port that accepts an audio signal, you can connect the pre-amplifier's output to it, provided you have the correct cable (e.g., RCA to 3.5mm stereo jack).

A turntable produces a very low-level signal that requires specific equalization (RIAA curve) and amplification (phono pre-amplification). A line-level output is a standardized, stronger audio signal that most amplifiers are designed to accept directly.

This specification indicates the level of background noise relative to the desired audio signal. A higher dB value generally means a cleaner, quieter signal. 50dB is a moderate level of performance for this type of device.

No, this pre-amplifier has a single phono input and is designed to accommodate one turntable at a time.

Ensure a 9V battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Verify that all RCA cables are securely connected to both the turntable and the amplifier. Check that the correct input is selected on your amplifier.

Check that all connections are tight. Try repositioning the pre-amplifier and its cables away from power sources or other electronic devices that might cause interference. Ensure the turntable's ground wire (if applicable) is properly connected to the amplifier or turntable base, as indicated by your turntable's manual.

Confirm that the input signal from the turntable is within the pre-amplifier's maximum permissible input level (38mV). Ensure the output is connected to a Line-In or Aux input, not another Phono input on your amplifier. Check the battery level.
