The RØDE BLIMP is compatible with the RØDE NTG1, NTG2, NTG3, and NTG4 microphones. It also supports most third-party shotgun microphones up to 325mm (12 ¾") in length.

The Blimp creates a large, acoustically transparent volume of air around the microphone. The included Dead Wombat furry cover further diffuses and reduces wind turbulence impacting the microphone capsule.

Yes, the pistol grip can be removed if you primarily use the Blimp on a boompole. The base features a standard 3/8" thread for mounting. An optional Universal Blimp Mount can further optimize this setup for boompole use.

The RØDE BLIMP measures 490mm in width, 285mm in height, and 125mm in depth.

The RØDE BLIMP weighs approximately 550gm (1.21 lbs) without a microphone or the Dead Wombat cover fitted.

The BLIMP comes with the Dead Wombat windshield, a cleaning brush, and a tail/patch cable.

The RØDE BLIMP comes with a ten-year warranty, excluding normal wear and tear of the Dead Wombat cover or damage from misuse.

Ensure the Dead Wombat furry cover is securely fitted over the Blimp. For extreme wind conditions, consider adding a "Windjammer" (sold separately) over the Dead Wombat.

Verify that the microphone is correctly seated within the Rycote Lyre suspension. Ensure no part of the microphone body is touching the internal walls of the Blimp. Check that the Mogami cable is not taut and has some slack.

Confirm that your microphone's length is within the 325mm limit. The Lyre system is designed to accommodate various diameters; ensure you are using the provided adjustment points correctly.

Check both ends of the Mogami cable for secure connections. Inspect the cable for any visible damage. Ensure the junction box connections inside the Blimp are properly seated.
